Postdoc Research Associate Position in Machine Learning

The Complex Fluids and Multiphase Transport Lab is looking for a well-qualified postdoctoral research associate in the area of thermal-fluid sciences and machine learning (ML). Our lab conducts research in developing ML and data-driven approaches to advance thermal-fluid sciences. The candidate will work on machine learning, data informatics, and artificial intelligence for thermal-fluid applications, collaborate with computer scientists, applied mathematicians, and engineers, as well as mentor graduate students. The position is for two years. Prior experience in machine learning and programming is highly desired.

Applicants should have a Ph.D. degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or Chemical Engineering and possess excellent communication skills. Previous experience in several of the following areas is expected:

  • Multiphase flow and heat/mass transfer 
  • Programming and algorithm development
  • Physics-informed and explainable AI
  • Mathematical and statistical ML
