Postdoc Research Associate Position in Complex Fluids
The Complex Fluids and Multiphase Transport Lab is looking for a well-qualified postdoctoral research associate in the area of experimental complex fluids and interfacial phenomena. Our lab conducts research in fundamental interfacial and thermo-fluid sciences and applying them to enable scaling additive manufacturing and effective thermal management. The candidate will conduct micro-scale experiments, collaborate with soft/biomaterials and multiscale modeling experts, as well as mentor graduate students in complex fluids and two-phase heat transfer. The position is for two years. Prior experience in advanced imaging techniques and scaling analysis is highly desired.
Applicants should have a Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering and possess excellent communication skills. Previous experience in several of the following areas is expected:
- Phase change and interfacial phenomena
- Advanced imaging techniques (e.g., high-speed interferometry, particle image velocimetry)
- Drop impact/wetting/evaporation
- Colloidal self-assembly
- Structure-enhanced surfaces
The review of applications will begin immediately with a desired start date in July 2019. The position will remain open until filled. Interested applicants should email a single PDF file containing a detailed CV and the contact information for two references to:
